  1. Hi and welcome to my in depth guide to kill Alchemical Hydra.

In this written guide I will go over the basics of how I do my Hydra kills, please not that this is a guide that works best for my personal preferences and that it is not THE best guide out there.

    SETTING UP FOR HYDRA

    1. Inventory

    Spoiler

    Inventory.png

    - Ranging potions to speed up your kills

    - Prayer potions (about 2-3 doses per kill)

    - Some food, Monks or better

    2. Gear

    Spoiler

    3. How to get to Alchemical Hydra

    Fairy rings code CIR:

    Spoiler

    Fairy-ring-CIR.png

This brings you to this spot right infront of the Mountain.

    CIR-teleport.png

Run North east until you come to the agility shortcut.

    Agility-shortcut.png

Climb up the rocks untill you get to the top (2 shortcuts).

    Elevator.png

Once upstairs you can already click the Elevator to go down the dungeon.

    MKRun.png

These are the two routes you can take to get to the elevator. It is highly recommended to have the agility shortcut to save time.

    Rada's Blessing 4:

    Spoiler

    Rada-s.png

The Rada's blessing 4 is obtained through the elite kebos diaries and is highly recommended for Hydra

    Rada-s-tp.png

Rada's blessing 4 brings you right in front of the elevator.

    Inside of the dungeon:

    Spoiler

    Activate-Elevator.png

Activate the elevator to get to the dungeon

    Mysterious-pipe.png

Walk North until you come to the Mysterious pipe shortcut.

    Walk-to-hydra.png

The pipe entrance brings you slightly south of the Hydra encounter entrance

    Minimap-Dungeon.png

There are 2 recommended routes to get to the Alchemical hydra if you take the long route make sure to pray range on the way

    Killing Alchemical Hydra

    The Inside route

    Spoiler

    Route.png

I know it looks a bit like a mess bit this is the route I take in the next section I go in depth on when I move from tile to tile

Before entering the room you want to have following things done:

    Spoiler

Take a sip or ranging potion

    Take a sip of Antidote++

Preactivate your protect from Range and Eagle eye or Rigour (depending on what you have unlocked)

    Range-pray.png

    Spoiler

Hydra has 2 main attack styles wich are range and mage you want to swap protection overheads after every 3 attacks

    3 Range

    Range-Attack.png

    3 Mage

    Magic-Attack.png

    Spoiler

Hydra has 4 phases and therefor 4 forms with each their own special attack wich activates after every first 3 attacks and reoccur after every 3rd time it switches back to its first attack style

Regular acidic form - Acid attack

    Magic-Attack.pngAcid-attack.png

    Electric form - Electric attack

    Electric-attack.png

    Fire form - Fire attack

    tile-6.pngtile-9.png

    Jad phase:

    Spoiler

In the Jad phase hydra will switch attack styles every other hit, the initial hit will be the opposite of the last attack it has fired

WARNING: If he switches forms after a 3rd of either range or mage attack he does his first attack in the same attack style so keep counting the attacks

    tile-12.png

Upon entering the Room run East to the red chemical jar on the first tile.

    Regular acidic form:

    Spoiler

    TILE 1

    tile-1.png

You stand on this tile because this tile guarantees he will stand ontop of the red roster below him wich lowest his defence, this goes for all forms moving towards next roster

Hydra will do his first 3 attacks in the Range style so Protect from missiles, after 3 basic attacks he does his acid attack and you run to the next time

    TILE 2

    tile-2.png

I stand on this tile because when he switches forms it gives me enough time to move to the next tile without getting hit and set up for the next form

    TILE 3

    tile-3.png

You walk to this tile to make sure hydra does stand on top of the green roster underneath him.

    Regular Electric form:

    Spoiler

    TILE 4

    tile-4.png

You stand on this tile to make sure when he is on the roster you won't take multiple hits from his electric attack once he does so. you can also run up the room in order to not get hit but this prevents you from doing dps.

    TILE 5

    Electric-attack.png

Once you're hit following message will appear in your chatbox

    message.png

Wait until all the electricity is gone to move to the next tile

    tile-5.png

Again I stand on this tile to make sure I have enough time to move to the next tile without getting hit by the next form. Once he transforms move to the next marked tile.

    Regular Fire form:

    Spoiler

    TILE 6

    tile-6.png

This tile provides a slight movement switch from hydra so you can set him up onto the blue roster.

    TILE 7

    tile-7.png

    TILE 8

This tile gives you some time to dps him while he does his 3 attacks before he does his final special attack

    tile-8.png

Hydra will move to the middle of the room and stun you temporarily at this point you want to have switched your run energy off and click the next tile to walk to it.

You need to walk 14 tiles wich is equal to 3 attacks for the fire to stop following you.

    Run.pngRun-Off.png

    TILE 9

    tile-9.png

Make sure to click the next tile 2 tiles before you hit this tile or you will get hit by the fire and moved slightly.

    TILE 10

    tile-10.png

Same for this tile click 2 tiles prior to hit this one to move to the next so you won't get hit

    TILE 11

    tile-11.png

This is the last tile you will stand on and you will remain here untill he does his first special attack on the Jad phase.

    Jad form:

    Spoiler

Jad will switch attacks each attack and do a special attack after the first 3 he does, after this special you should be able to kill hydra shortly after

When he does his special attack you move to the final tile wich is the 3x3 square marked on the map I drew.

    Jad-phase.png

    TILE 12

    tile-12.png

After this attack you should be easily able to kill the Alchemical Hydra.

    Dieing at Hydra

    Spoiler

If for some reason you die at hydra you can go back to the pipe exit and talk to the npc, right click to collect your items

    collect-gear.png

the talk option gives following message.

    collect-textbox.png
