  1. There's a lot of times where people are clearing out their banks and just drop sleuths of items at home, which, combined with the runelite client showing item names on the ground results in a stack of item names taking up a portion of the screen from top to bottom. While not actually detrimental, it is kind of annoying.

A simple solution would be adding a trash filter into the bank, just like the withdraw-note filter, but instead it will delete an item; of course, not without a confirmation dialog first.

  2. Let's just jump in, shall we?

    Why?

We are all here for some reason; it could be that you don't like paying for membership to access all content, maybe exp rates are too slow for you in osrs, perhaps you're perma-muted and talking to peers is really important to you, or maybe you're just plain lazy to play osrs enough to get rich, but want to experience it, so you've found a home at Zenyte. Let's be honest, though, on our way up to getting the comp cape and doing those repetitive skilling tasks, everybody hates scrolling our banks to find what we need and withdraw it in the proper quantities. Doing it over and over again, especially when grinding for long periods of time, let's face it, is fucking annoying. Wouldn't it be so much nicer, and more efficient if you could just make a preset once, and then there's a dedicated button in your bank to immediately wear and withdraw the items from that preset, in a singular, never-changing location? Sounds pretty good to me.

    NOT game-breaking!

Seriously, I have heard some people say that bank presets break the game too much, and that's why they (presets) shouldn't be added to osrs, but can anybody actually provide a constructive argument about how it breaks the game? Not that I've seen. As both an osrs and rs3 player, I can say with absolute certainty that one of the best features of rs3, one of the very few features of rs3 that is actually an amazing quality of life improvement, is bank presets. I find myself wishing I had them -literally- every time I log in to osrs (or zenyte, respectively 🙂)

List of things it is useful for:

    • Crafting (depositing crafted items, grabbing more supplies)
    • Pking (make a preset of your budget pk gear, have multiple slots, grab it and go back when you get killed and take revenge!)
    • Bossing (have your bossing/PvM gear ready to go in a flash)
    • Smithing (see crafting)
    • Fletching (see smithing)
    • Runecrafting (guess where)
    • Herblore (you starting to get the idea?)
    • Basically every skill, so I'll stop listing them
    • Farming monsters, such as in an effort to get a rare drop or just farm sellable items for quick cash (grab your gear and go, same concept as with bossing)
    • Forgetful people (such as myself, no more running somewhere only to realize you're missing a crucial item)
    • Storing different outfits, for fashionscapistas
    • Removes the need to manage a bank tab for combat gear, allowing for more skilling/loot/whatever else tabs, as well as saves time by not having to manage the tab.
    • I could keep going, but I think thus far my point has gotten across, it's got loads of amazing uses, NONE of which provide any unfair advantage!

    Common concerns

This is just a list of things I could see people complaining or being concerned about, and my two cents on those matters.

    - Forgetting about valuable items in presets and losing them on death

That's part of the game, no different than forgetting you had an ags in your invy when you went to the abyss and got smited for it; check and double check.

    - What if it's too hard for the devs?

Zenyte is one of the best, most well-coded servers around. If shitty custom servers hosted by 12-year olds on their grand mother's router can have bank presets, I'm fairly certain the Zenyte devs can manage it.

    - Bank presets deviate from the real OSRS experience!

Zenyte has already deviated from OSRS in a number of ways, all for quality of life, and all of which are appreciated by us players. This would be no different of an adaptation than centralizing teleportation/transportation methods to the home area, or than allowing the use of ancient spells without doing countless hours of questing. It's just a way to make life easier for us players.

    - That's from RS3, pump the brakes!

If you're shooting this down simply because it's in RS3, I would advise you to research the Batesian Mimic Problem and then re-evaluate your opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to read, if you have any constructive criticism or reasons why this should NOT be added to the game, please leave them below!

Otherwise, if you like this idea, please, show your support by leaving a REPLY! Community feedback is what gets the devs' attention, and brings us the content we ask for!

  3. Title is pretty self-explanatory, but just to go a bit more in-depth:

I'd love to see dragon boots ornament kits added to the vote store. Everybody knows fashionscape is what *really* makes somebody good at this game, and gold-trimmed D boots are amazing for fashionscaping! Plus, the skirt/legs and scimitar ornament kits are already in the vote store, so why not the boots?!?

    ❤️

Dude the platform is awesome. I’ve been thinking about booting Linux on a new pc I’m building.

if ya do, definitely go with Arch. there's gonna be a LOT of learning but it will teach you the fundamentals of the system and help you understand how it works

I was thinking about Linux for their smooth operating systems. Heard so many good things about it.

Welcome as well! Hope it’s a good time killer/distraction from the real deal to keep ya focused.

If you're looking to switch away from the proprietary operating systems (Windows & Mac), Linux is your key to freedom. For beginner's I'd recommend Manjaro.

I haven't come across any other Linux users in game so far! Hopefully soon!

Welcome to the server and thanks for the great introductory post! Without the great community base, like yourself, the developers and rest of the staff team would have no one to produce great content for! We are glad you are here, and hope you choose to stay! Welcome to the server, if you need anything you can hit me up in-game or via the forums and or discord @Blisziful#7764! ❤️ Blisziful

Appreciate ya! I'll be around, I'm sure you'll hear from me at some point. Feel free to pm me in-game for my discord. I don't post it publicly because of web scrapers, crawlers, etc.

  9. If the topic title was confusing, don't worry! I put it like that to (hopefully) grab the attention of the developers so I can thank them for their undoubtedly hard work.

Hey Zenyte! I'm Sudo! I'm a new player here, playing primarily from my Arch Linux computer, and my phone. I'm very impressed with this server for having a Linux AppImage, that is incredibly unique! I know I know, mobile is impressive too, but Jagex actually offers mobile on OSRS, they do NOT, however, offer an AppImage, so, major hats off to the developers here. That said I would also like to report that as of right now, the appimage is working extremely smooth! That's on Arch Linux with the latest vanilla LTS kernel, x86 and XFCE.

Technical shit out of the way, I'm a long time player of both RS3 and OSRS, taking a break from the official games for a while so as not to eat up too much of my time, as I've recently launched an ecommerce business and need the extra time to focus on optimizing that. As such, to fend off the RuneScape urges, I've come to Zenyte for the time being! If I stay as enthused about the server as I am now, then I'll be here for quite a long time 🙂

    P.S.

Check out this highly sexual photo of Zenyte running on Arch
